Post-democratic, taking their lead from Starmer's hated government. It seems every institution of the state is doing what it likes, and that past norms and protocols have been consigned to history.
Hi all - just reading this stuff makes my blood boil - (which isn’t exactly helpful in a heatwave..)
And I definitely agree that BCC are indeed fudging the data and absolutely not consulting anyone in their rush to take the money and implement this scheme - (despite strenuous opposition) and they should certainly be held to account for it! I worry that they’ll either just bore us into submission/continue to avoid every awkward question and just do it anyway.
I was thinking - in addition to all the great work that Helen is doing in holding their feet to the flames - whether perhaps some snappy messaging which incapsulates the problem and shows the potential consequences of the scheme (along with BCC’s lame arguments/lack of evidence etc) in an obvious or possibly humorous way and which could be disseminated to enough people - might at least create more awareness/continued opposition in the community and give BCC pause for thought - PR wise if nothing else.
To that end I’m wondering if anyone knows enough to be dangerous about AI and could turn BCC’s proposals into an animation showing how it’s likely to cause more many more problems than it’s solving. (Something that could potentially be sent round local Apps like Nextdoor or local media to show more people the idiocy of the scheme.)
Maybe an animation? Maybe a short form video with people who have already been victims of this in East Bristol that could be put up on something like Tik Tok or YouTube - (I’m completely unqualified on these things being a total Luddite about all things social media/AI etc, but these type of tools seem to be quite effective in the right hands)…so maybe someone out there knows how to put something like this together? I apologise deeply in advance if something similar already exists and I’ve missed it owing to my general aversion to anything other than email.
Anyhoo - it was really just a thought (and possibly a monstrously bad one at that) but thought I’d share anyway on the off chance it’s useful.
Hi Fiona, it's a nice idea and perhaps an animator hobbyist will one day capture the BCC's pantomime of lies in a humorous short cartoon video. However, giving them 'pause for thought' is essentially futile as they aren't paid to think, they're paid to carry out the orders of their puppet masters in the UN, WEF and other globalist technocrasies. 😃
At the same time, there is always mileage in doing something creative to challenge the 100% left-brained, linear thinking that is behind such schemes (even if the councillors themselves aren't doing any). It intuitively feels at this stage a healthy way to go, alongside what will almost inevitably be a horrendous and expensive legal case. I personally wouldn't use AI for that though, as it's all part of that world of surveillance and control that is forcing this through, as well as being environmentally disastrous.
This is getting to the point where the council - people relationship is being shown to be completely dysfunctional. The council obviously are living up to the title of local "government" and want to govern the communities that they are elected to serve. However they still are public "servants". In the video one of the early parts of the presentation by Ed Plowden, he talks about questions not being answered for legal reasons. Really, he needs to publish that advice, it was paid for after all by us citizens. I have mentioned before that I am seeing a great deal of exposure of maladministration by this council across a lot of areas in various medias and perhaps it might be worthwhile forming an association designed to highlight and challenge what is happening in this city and try and stop it. The city is being destroyed across a lot of areas and its all for nothing but we will end up living in a place where you can't do much just because some anti car zealot decided. It must stop. Thank you Helen for putting this together, brilliant as always.

Thank you for keeping the pressure on BCC.
They can't answer questions of logic because they're serving the hidden hand behind Agenda 2030. Check out how this is panning out in the UK:

I think Megs is telling it as it is.

I hope others may chime in!
